Before you book a flight
A medical trip starts with information you can check. Use these four checkpoints to compare your options with your family and clinicians before committing to travel.
1. A hospital and team you can verify
Ask for the hospital, department, proposed clinician or team, and the status of your appointment. A directory entry is background information; it is not confirmation that a team has accepted your case.
2. A written budget with the unknowns visible
Compare the hospital estimate, MedicCN fees, flights, accommodation, meals, insurance and possible return visits with your actual local out-of-pocket cost. Ask what could change after assessment and when you will be told about additional charges.
3. A visit planned around clinical appointments
Ask the hospital about assessment, treatment and review stages, including which dates are provisional. A short procedure does not establish a short stay. Confirm return-travel guidance with your treating team before booking a return flight.
4. A plan for after you return home
Clarify who provides clinical advice, how to obtain records, which reviews need attendance, and whether a clinician at home can help. Confirm the cost and scope of further coordination instead of assuming follow-up is included.
Within 24 hours, we clarify your needs, explain the records and fees, and agree the next step. Hospital estimates and appointments require separate confirmation.
