Frequently asked questions

Fees, visas, language, privacy and what MedicCN does — the questions patients ask before getting in touch.

Questions, answered

  • Do I need to speak Chinese?

We can help with language and practical communication during your visit. Discuss the support you need with your coordinator before you travel.

  • How good are the hospitals?

You can explore the hospitals in our directory, including their departments and published information. The hospital determines clinical suitability and availability.

  • How much does it cost?

Fixed service fee: USD 200–500, not charged per day. Coordination and accompaniment: 10–25% of medical expenses, depending on treatment type and accompaniment level. Hospital medical expenses are paid separately. Your written quote confirms the rate, calculation basis and included services before you commit.

  • What if I'm coming from abroad?

We help coordinate travel preparation, local transport, accommodation, and your appointment schedule.

  • Do I need a visa for treatment in China?

Entry requirements depend on your nationality and length of stay. Visa fees are included in the fixed service fee, and your written plan sets out the visa arrangements for your trip. Check the current requirements for your nationality before you book travel.

  • How is my privacy protected?

See our privacy policy for how we collect and use your information. Your coordinator can explain what information is needed for your enquiry.

  • What if there's an emergency?

In a life-threatening emergency, call 120 first. For other coordination needs, contact us to discuss the available support.

  • Can I explore options before deciding to travel?

Yes. Your initial coordination conversation is free. We clarify your questions and the next information needed. A medical plan, hospital estimate and appointment require separate hospital confirmation.

  • How can I verify a hospital or appointment?

Use official hospital information and confirm your own department, team and appointment through a hospital-published contact. Our directory is background information, not evidence of a booking.

  • What should I arrange for after I return home?

Before travel, discuss records, a clinical contact, review appointments and any local clinician handover. Confirm the scope and cost of ongoing coordination in writing; local care is not automatically included.

  • What if my plans change?

Ask for cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms for each service before paying. Hospital, travel and coordination arrangements can have different terms; a free enquiry does not book a treatment.
