Shenzhen Second People's Hospital was founded in 1980 and accredited Grade III-A in 1996 — one of the first two hospitals in Shenzhen to reach that grade; neurosurgery, burn and plastic surgery, and orthopedics are its best-known programs. It has been the First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University since 2008.
Its burn and wound-repair team holds national standing — the department was led by a former chairman of the Chinese Medical Association's Burn Surgery Branch.
